EVERYTHING ON AGEING

This joint conference of the Swiss MD-PhD Association (SMPA) and the European MD-PhD Association (EMPA) was  focused on “Ageing”.
Why do some people live longer? What genes and proteins are leading the life clock? How can society be adapted to an aged population? As a truly translational topic, we had the opportunity to listen to the different perspectives of public health world leaders, fundamental scientists and clinicians.

Besides some inspirational keynote lectures and presentations, this year’s congress was a perfect scenario for networking, foster collaborations and get career advice on the MD-PhD pathway. The wonderful city of Basel was the stage of this event, offering the ideal atmosphere for physician scientists from all over Europe to get together.
